Mingyang Zhao 赵明阳

I am currently an Assistant Professor at Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR) Hong Kong Institute of Science & Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence (BAAI) and the National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition of the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), working with Prof. Tiejun Huang and Prof. Dong-Ming Yan. Before that I attained the Phd degree at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (AMSS) and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), under the supervision of Prof. Xiaohong Jia.

Research

My research interests revolve around statistical machine learning, with a particular focus on probabilistic modeling and robust geometric estimation, with their applications in computer vision (including 3D vision), computer graphics (reverse engineering), and pattern recognition.
